You can even use the OSD's display mode options to set fullscreen or a 4:3, 16:9 or 16:10 or 5:4 aspect ratio, with black bars. You can then get your black bars or adjust it to your liking. In Custom resolution utility, if you are running a DIRECTX 9 game, and you set the refresh rate to the refresh rate on the desktop, to the refresh rate that you want in your game, and then you enter the desired resolution and refresh rate as a STANDARD (or established) resolution in CRU, when you launch your game and choose that resolution (as long as the desktop is set to that refresh rate beforehand), the monitor (video drivers) will pick up that resolution and feed it to the monitor and the monitor will accept that as a non native resolution. I can NOT explain this ANY Clearer so if you don't understand this, I can not help further. Ok I do NOT know if this "bug" applies to only AMD or if it happens with Nvidia, but here is EXACTLY what is going on.
